Nano-Grants to Care for Companion Animals

This program includes the work formerly done by AARF: The Anacortes Animal Relief Fund, which was merged into SAIN's AAP in May of 2023.

We understand the deep bond between pets and their owners and we're committed to helping responsible pet owners navigate unexpected challenges. Our AAP was created to provide a helping hand during temporary hardships caused by unforeseen pet illnesses, injuries, or emergencies.

While we wish we could help in every situation, the overwhelming demand for our services and our limited resources have led us to refine our program's focus. We hope you understand that this allows us to assist those in the most urgent need.

We believe that the joy of pet ownership comes with the responsibility of planning for their ongoing care. By focusing our resources on urgent cases, we aim to make the greatest impact possible with the funds available to us. Thank you for your understanding as we strive to help as many pets and their loving owners as we can.

PLEASE NOTE:

The AAP is designed to help pet owners facing unanticipated situations.

We are unable to cover routine care expenses such as check-ups, vaccinations, spay/neuter, food, flea treatments, or other routine pet care costs.

We do not cover cremation.

We will only consider applications that are filled out completely. We need all this information to properly evaluate every request and won't respond to incomplete applications. We don't respond to phone calls if we do not have a complete application.

Grants are limited to one grant per household per year.

Please understand that SAIN is an all-volunteer organization and we are not always able to respond to applications or phone calls immediately. We try to respond within 48 hours.
